Finally got the last piece to complete my registry set!

Well, the last piece to complete my registry set arrived today. A few years back I had set out to try to complete the best set of Franklins that I could. Today I added the last piece to what was my ultimate goal, a set of MS65FBL's (without the 53S - not enough bucks in the coffers for that one!), but it feels great to be able to sit back and look at the set now image

Below is the last piece!

No greater feeling than getting the "last" coin for a set. Congrats!

  • Congratulations on your new Franklin! I've begun to form a new liking for toned, mint state Franklins. These are neat coins. It would be neat to see your set.

I see (by clicking "registrants other sets") you are moving forward in time to continue with MS half dollars. Have fun!
  • Congrats...

I get the coin it replaced!

Some finish the sets others just start image

  • Congratulations!!

  • Thanks guys - I appreciate the kind words. And yes Rusty - you're getting the original members of the set - I might just send you another pic of the 51D so you can drool some more - being that I'm playing with the camera today!

    Take care

Sincere congratulations, Frank. I know what you went through to get that set finished!

What say we split a 53-SFBL, and swap in back and forth every month on our Registry? image
  • Frank,

Congratulations! That is a great feeling.

Now the tough question, will your next coin be an upgrade to the Franklin set
of will you delve into new territory?

CRAZY DADDY-O!!!! Lucy can't wait till she can finally complete her set! What a great accomplishment it is to have the 10th ranked set, I can only dream of that and would love to see these GEMS in person. Now you can focus on your Kennedy set!!!!!!

Way to go, Frank! I am beginning to move into some proof Franklins and realize they are child's play compared to the FBL set you have put together. You have every right to be very proud of your accomplishment! Congrats! image
  • Nice job Frank,

I'm glad that you found that 1963-P MS65FBL!
What a great set you have put together!

Frank - Congratulations! And top 10 to boot.
Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.
  • Nice Franklins Frank.....I also like the toned looks of your coins. Maybe it's the Jefferson series I collect but I don't like each coin to look alike....all white. Toning gives each coin its own character. Again, great job.

Hurrah for you. Sometimes the last coin seems to take forever. Franklins are my favorite half. Mark

  • Thanks everyone for the kind words - Like all your sets, it's a labor of love that only we understand - I keep telling my wife that and she keeps rolling her eyes! image

    Again thanks! image
