A new auction charge?

I was just surfing some auctions on Yahoo! and came across this,
"A fee of $1 will be added if you pay by personal check, bank check or moneyorder...."
I am familar with the fees sellers claim, like supplies, time, etc... and can understand a shipping/handling charge that is reasonalbe, such as $3.50 or so. I will not bid on an auction that charges an extremely high shipping rate. I saw one that said a $10 shipping fee (no insurance) for one coin to be shipped in a padded envolope.
But now, besides the $5.00 shipping this place charges, they start charging a "processing fee" of you pay by a money order? I feel that is unreasonable, and won't be buying from them anmore. Does anyone else fee this is justified?

Actually, it is illegal in California (and many other states) to charge a fee for accepting checks, PayPal and/or credit cards.
