Coin Websites?

Is there any other good places to buy coins online beside ebay? (yes I know there is alot of junk on ebay as well). I am a newbie to coin collecting and usually buy from ebay but there must be other places that are good. Thanks for the info!

  • There's a Buy, Sell, and Trade board on here. Just use the pull down navigation bar.

Although it is expensive, the coins DHRC offers are really nice quality from what I can tell. You can get to them from the top of the page here on the "Quick Links" side.

That's true, the BST board is good. I've bought a couple and sold a couple and have had great success. And the people here are more patient, in my experience, in giving multiple pix of the coins and discussing it before transacting.

What type of material are you looking for. I buy from all types of sources online, including the B/S/T board (working a deal right now there).

Many sites, some more dependent on what you need than others.

  • I guess I started with silver eagles. I have quite a few. But I am open to looking at all different coins. Any websites would be a plus. Thanks.
  • Yes, a specific series would help narrow the search down.

The guys over at the Cheap Slab Store have been pretty good to me. Great selection of moderns in NGC and ANACS slabs, slim pickins if you're looking for PCGS material. I've only bought NGC cameo proofs from them but all were solid for the grade IMO. If they weren't in the same state as me, would probably have been buying more, the near 10% sales tax kills me.
  • I love to get on Teletrade as a new coin buyer. The cost per lot adds a greater percentage $5 for a $20 item, but the selection is good and great service.

http://davidlawrence.com has some really nice stuff, and a nice way of describing coins with a star and color rating... For cheaper raw coins, I have too many links in my favorites category to list... I could email you the file with my favorites, if you'd like. PM me if you would.
