I just noticed that they are in the process of dividing up the collectors who plan to do the Basic '69 Topps Set and the Master Set. Right now the Basic listing (which is what I'm in is no where to be found).

I'm sure the set will be back online soon.

I agree with 69Topps8 and RayBShotz. It looks like we are in a transition period. Overall, the categorizing of the 1969 set into basic and master will be nice. This will allow recognition that will accomodate different interests regarding the 1969 set. This will have the net effect of increasing its popularity in general.

Don't forget that gaspipe26 has already done the hard part with the WL variations. He'll be joining us soon.

I'm right there with the #6 Basic and the #5 Master. I'm waiting on a huge batch from PSA now.

WE LOVE YOU BOB--YOU HAVE MADE THE 69 SET AN ICON OF THE HOBBY, AND YOU ALREADY HAVE TOUCHED EVERYONE'S SET IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER----RON H.
As a Master Set Collector, I find it fascinating to note the changes in GPA and completion percentage effected by the addition of weighted variations in the Master Set vs one best grade example in the Basic Set.
Just adds to the fun of it.

For about a decade
I'll be up around 99%+ by early next week. I still need to grade my Shannon and I have to locate replacements for a few that weren't holdered due to miscuts. Meanwhile I'll continue the long and painful upgrade process to replace all the PSA 7 and under cards.
Thanks to all the other '69 set builders for your help and support, especially Ron Sanders and Bob Cacamese who have supplied several tough cards through either sale or trade. I'll enjoy my brief stay at the top of the board.
That truly is impressive. Congratulations! This is such a tough set. I still have about 100 cards that I'm tempted to send in which will probably grade 70% PSA 8 and the rest PSA 7. There doesn't seem to be any hurry to do that now. I think I just wait for better examples of these cards to come along and gradually add them to the set. Again, congratulations!
BTW to all, my Mike Ferraro #83 graded PSA 7. I thought it had a decent shot at an 8, but I think the printing registry knocked it down a notch.
Whats so tough about Ferraro? How bout'
Print register
Snow
Off Centering
Diamond Cut
Miscut
Mauled Corners
Rough edge
Any of these flaws is almost a guarantee, on the Ferraro in particular, and some times the flaws are evident in combination. All of us veteran 69' collectors have been faced with this reality.
There are dozens of such cards in the 69' set.
But therein lies the fun. :-)
Dude - I also have about a dozen PSA 7's I am temporarily very happy with, if you know what I mean.
I am extremely sympathetic to the cause and applaude your patience.
Yours is a sweet set too.
Congrats again John.
