Nifty new feature--"Registrant's Other Sets"

Though I might well be the last to notice this feature, PCGS now allows you to enable a search feature so that when looking at one of your registry sets, the viewer can easily look at a list all of your registry sets. For instance, looking at my clad dime set, on this page , there is a button near the top of the page that allows you to look at a list of all my registry sets. (Not that you would want to look at a list of all my sets--indeed, I hardly want to look at a list of all my sets!) I think this feature is kinda cool because I am interested in what sorts of sets other collectors are working on. For isntance, it is interesting to me to see how many "classic coin" collectors are also working on "modern coin" sets, and so on.
By the way, to enable this feature, you need to edit each registry set individually. When you do so, there is a series of questions (do you want your email address shown, are you a YN, etc) at the bottom of one of the screens. One of the questions asks "Do you want a link to a page that displays all the sets ....". It's something of a pain that each registry set needs the question answered in order for the button to appear on that set, but I still believe it's a nifty feature!

The thing I don't like is if I want to see your "Lincoln Cents Basic (circulation strikes) 1909-1958" I get brought to the main screen for this series, and then I have to find your name. There are 98 sets registered for this series. I think it would be better to bring up your set, when I click on the link on the "Registrant's Other Sets" page. There should be a separate link (linked to the set name on the "Registrant's Other Sets" page) if you want to go to the main page of the series. This is just my opinion.
Overall, I like this feature. I hope a lot of people use it.

Yes its me, Paul, your fellow "Modern/Clad" collector again with another reply.
I would like to say that yes I think it is great that you can see other sets that a personal favorite fellow collector of yours is collecting w/o searching to find them, but it is a drag to have to search 100 other names to find their set, because some people have different names for their sets. I would also like to see on that personal list as to when someone has updated their other sets. I think that that will soon be added also.

I surely agree that this addition can be improved. But I think it's a good start. Now when I get a totally worn coin, I can quickly look to see if Braddick happens to be collecting that series, in which case I can sell it to him for a King's ransom!

P.S. to Paul: It's nice to see you here. My email has been busted for a week. My son got DSL and the installer didn't add any filters to the phone lines. As a result, it's no phone-line based email for me for a while! Indeed, the stactic created by the non-filtered DSL means it's practically no phone for me. On a different topic, I wonder if there are any other closet clad dime collectors reading this thread??? Anyone else want to own up to collecting clad dimes?
Thanks for pointing that out! It's also a nice feature to move among your own sets.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Thanks for the heads up. I like that feature, and just linked all my sets. 18 sets in all, but only 4 complete so far. Guess I've got my work cut out for me. I wondered why I hadn't noticed it before, but when I checked the Registry news, I saw that it just became available on Sept.12.

Speaking of other Clad dime collectors. Here is my wife's set I help her with.
BTW I work with a Mark Rush at Boeing here in Mesa Arizona.

I was wondering as to who Ode to Ozie was and I'm glad to see that someone else collects these dimes. My opinion is that if the United States Mint minted it, then it is worth collecting. The only reason that I started to collect the clad dimes is that I can get them at a reasonal price (sometimes) and that at the time I started to collect them, no one else was. Like I say on my intro, that if the GOV. changes design which is in store for what?, 2004, then we may see other collectors start collecting.
I see Mark that you collect 3CN's and that is a very nice collection I might add. I bet those are hard to come by in those grades. Only 4 collectors, WOW. Sorry about your e-mail, I thought you had enough dime talk for a while. Good luck on that 96-W!!!
