  • Why is it you always get nasty when someone doesn't agree with your point of view? Like somebody else said, take off your blinders you might learn something. You need to balance your knowledge with common sense. You have a lot of knowledge I'll give you that, but it appears you are lacking in the common sense department.

A lot of eyes have been opened. If you leave, don't leave because you believe we
or some of us want you to. If you return, do it for your benefit and we'll all profit.

  • Anaconda and your detractors:

Life is too short to let in-laws, bosses, or forum members detract from your enjoyment of the one life you are given on earth. Depending upon your perspective, this is either a hobby or part of your employment....either way, we're not likely to gain world peace through numismatics. Regardless of which side of the fence you fall on with most of the issues on this forum, it is best to sometimes put inconsequential issues and irritating people in a box and just forget about them.

If this means that someone attacks you on this forum and tries to make you feel small, then remember that the other readers that share your beliefs and perspective will be able to understand what is going on. And, that any attacks you retaliate with will only be seen as dragging your reputation into the mud.

I don't agree with about 10% of the comments/theories/statements that are made on this board; however I respect about 99% of them. I appreciate the ability to constantly learn about numerous areas of the hobby and gain the different perspectives that exist. Together, even with all of our warts, we (really you guys becasue I pretty much only take) make the hobby more interesting and enjoyable.

I know this sounds like "motherhood and apple pie"; but sometimes a trip back home can make everything alright.

    Go well.
  • I think you'll be back. You seem to enjoy it.

Is this the same person who used a description on ebay that described two peace dollars
    as "Two naked chicks"?

Read the linked thread, good riddens. His ebay auctions are annoying too.

    Oops, was that actionable.

In case anyone did not realize it, my remark "gemseeker, what do you expect from the son of an attorney??!!" was meant in jest. After all, I was speaking of the the little anaconda.

And, for the record, I like Adrian alot and think he has a great deal to offer to this board, should he decide to come back.

    coinguy

the problem is that he never offered. most of his posting was either ranting or had something to do with hawking his wares. very sad. when i think of a dealer/collector with the caliber of coins he lists on eBay and elsewhere i expect more. he never offered any insight into a specialized area, helping new or inexperienced collectors with advice. the whole "visit" here was much like his auction descriptions, fluff with no substance. very sad indeed.

for the most part, i'd have to agree w/ keets's rebuttal. but i guess it's good to have input from many varied points of view, including anaconda's.

Just someone else getting lost in their own imagined importance. The title of the thread is even arrogant as Anaconda is talking about himself in the 3rd person. (like a king or emperor) As for the statment about "honorable people drowning the riff raff", it's obvious he fancies himself the leader of some contingent here and would like them to clean up the place in anticipation of his glorious return.

Now that he's back, perhaps he can remember that newsgroups aren't real life.

IWOG - Whats the matter, you dont like royalty? We already have a number

of Royal Pain in the A$$es on the Forum, people who like to verbaly DUKE it out. You like

kings and queens when your playing cards well enough. Finally what about Earl Shiebe,

Count Bassie, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole and the Dukes of Hazard. We got more

royalty over here then they do back in England.

Hmmmm.....a damp dungeon is probably where he gets all those crummy toned coins from. Hey, how come an oxidized coin is desirable while an oxidized bill is just considered charred?

    Kind of makes you think.

Iwog- I truly miss your input on COINS. You used to frequent much more often and even though many times I may have disagreed with you (toning VS white) you wrote in such a fashion that gave me pause and reflection and I found myself privately shifting position.
Very few have the power of the written word as you.

I just wish you would use it more often.

  • Hey Iwog! So you're the fellow who was the most capable (according to more than a few) to formulate an argument for white is right (as opposed to toned).

Well, I for one would like to see your argument. I heard you were pretty sharp.

Adrian (ANACONDA)-----After reading that long thread about currency, I must say, I am glad to see you go. Right off the bat, you are "stepping" on people who (from what I gather from your replies) are not wealthy. Bustman voiced his opinion. How do you know what he says is not right?? Everyone is entitled to an opinion. So what if the guy is a carpenter? Does that mean he is a peasant? Money is not everything Adrian. Money does not buy happiness. Maybe it does for you, but it sure does not for me. What would happen to you if one day you woke up broke?? Would you then consider yourself a peasant like you do the rest? From that post, you said something like "what does a carpenter know about currency when he does not even own a level, etc......" I am glad I never bought anything from you.

    Happy Day!

  • You know, I was staying out of this stuff especially since I had a part in Mr. Crane leaving in the first place (something that I am not proud of incidentally).

I never thought I'd say this, but you people need to lighten up.

Mr. Crane and I may never see eye to eye on anything in this world, but these attacks I see on him are totally unwarranted. If you don't appreciate his comments, then don't read threads that involve him. They are clearly marked.

I am glad someone with wealth and wit AND who is into monster coins is willing to share his thoughts and experiences with the hobby we all love. Thanks for sharing your experiences and knowledge so freely! I know it may be tough sometimes but try not to let the few but boastful naysayers here make you want to slither back in the marsh again with the other anacondas.

    Loki:

This is about coins (I thought), not class warfare. Some view Adrian as glib and disrespectful and, thus, the anti-Adrian posts. I too like Adrian but urge that we all observe the Golden Rule and be kind to others. That will solve these problems.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the kind words Braddick. (yeah and I guess Adrian too although I need to slap you silly someday) As most of us know, coinlust happens in waves and for the moment I'm too busy with the home theater bug to work on my commems and cause trouble here. Never enough money for everything I'm afraid.

As for all the stuff I've wrote on white/toned coins, most of it should be in archives. Fight for your right to buy white! Viva la revolution! To tell you the truth, most of the toned/white wars ended up in "Collect what you like" so what was the point. I need sleep.........peace.

Well, you do overprice on ebay. That's all I note, so buyer beware.
