National design contest for $1, $5, & $10 coins?

Have a national contest and let the American people choose the design they want. You could have a panel of artists, engravers from the mint, and numismatic experts, plus a few ordinary Joes and Joettes. They could narrow down the entries to a manageable number for each denomination. Then, at the next national election, put it on the ballot. So we wil have new coin designs to go along with our newly elected DEMOCRATIC president. I just had to add that last part. Mark
P.S. This was an I answer I posted to another thread, but I figured I needed to start it as a new thread.

It seems like most Democrats, you have a little trouble with the details on our system of government. The next national election is this November, and it's called a mid-term election where we vote for members of Congress. We only elect the President every 4-years, and so that would happen in November of 2004. And if you want that person to be a Democrat, then vote for the Democratic candidate, and perhaps even campaign for that person, though I really would not be looking forward to a return of previous policies of having terrorists bombing our warships and embassies, and us responding with a cruise missile lobbed at a baby food factory, after all, low-emission vehicles are far more important to Democrats than a national defense right? If you are referring to the President being elected democratically (it wasn't clear from your wording), then you would have to amend the Constitution by 2004, because you see, we live in a Democratic Republic, not a Democracy. Of course, in order to amend it, you would probably have to read it first.
Coins and politics don't mix well, you know.

1. Use my image on all demoninations on both sides
2. Use a big number on the coin on both sides like a token
Or, failing that, maybe send the mint engravers on a trip to a country where they have cool coinage and force them to learn something.
