One final Message

I truly want to thank all of you who have tried to help me. To those who have been rude, it is okay. We do not live in the same world so I don't expect you to understand. All of the anxiety this coin thing is bringing on me is not worth it. Someone posted " there are other ways to obtain money". You are right. I will find another way to get some cash for my bro and sisters and will probably put the coins back in the box and forget about them. Happy Hunting all. Special thanks to Dan. You are quite a guy.

  • Financial needs vary with each person's money situation. There have been many cases where people had to sell family heirlooms because they needed money. Look at all the pawn shops. I am sure the coins are a valued part of your family's possessions. If you do decide to sell them, get a good idea of the current market value before you sell them. You can get that information online, at coin shops, and at auction appraisers. As to the different responses that you got on your initial post, I have found from my almost non-stop chat days, that you will see a wide divergent spectrum of personalities even in a chatroom. People will take things in a certain way and then take sides based on a given issue. So yours was no exception. Good luck in finding an appropriate money source.

What would your slabbed coins be worth if the grading services went out of business? What would your coins be worth if the Internet was taken offline for good?
  • Thank you for your advice and of course you are correct. I have been trying to find the worth of these coins for almost 2 years and that is my dillema. They seem to be worth something different to each individual no matter what the RED BOOK or the GRAY SHEET says.... thank you again.
