1990-S 50c PR70. 1 of 53 still goes for 360$

1990-S 50c PR70DCAM One of 53 (Not my auction)

How'd PCGS let 53 of these get slabbed. Also, doesn't that look like a newer holder than most PR 70 DCAM's?

I've seen quite a few in that holder. I've also yet to see one graded 70 that was actually a 70. I also have to wonder why this seller did not include reverse scans in any of his auctions (he was selling several 70DCAMs).

There are some years with even more slabbed at 70. The 1983 and 1989 are both over 100 coins.

  • I could get an 1891 Seated Half in PR62 for that. There are only 165 graded in all grades combined. Many 19th century proofs had less than 500 minted, 53 graded already and a few million proof sets are still in mom and pops closet.
I guess thats what makes the hobby interesting.
  • Same seller had a total of 13 PCGS PR70DC's for sale today. only the 83 and 2 89's sold ($360, 456 and 325 respectively). Too new to comment on the holders. Search completed items for Kennedy PR70DCAM PCGS and you see the list.
  • Really? Can I meet your Mom and Pop?
