How did this guy do this?

E Bay auction #1378300489. Won the auction, got the coin today, the photo has disappeared. I cannot compare the coin shown in the auction to the coin recieved.
How do you do this? Seems like a great selling tool, show a great coin, sell a coin, delete photo so no comparison between what you thought you bought and what you got....Must remember this one, its as good as dealing AGC or PCI coins!!!!!

  • It could be done by linking a photo off another server, then deleting the photo....

    KenzoT,

I learned that lesson the hard way. Now I always grab the eBay page either before or right after I win an auction. As with so much on eBay, getting rid of the picture is another trick that can be used to scam you.image

Hope the sale works out OK and its not a trick.
  • I try and remember to do a save as on the photo so I have something to compare to.

If they use a photo hosting service, the scan is automatically deleted from the service's servers after a period of time. Not sure what the length of that period is, though.

Sellers that use their own server rather than eBay's usually delete the pictures soon after the auction ends so they have more space available for other stuff. Snag the pict sooner.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
