  • It's nice to spend money on other things besides coins. Don't forget to brush up on the spelling while you're away.

Scary thing is, Truth, that there are many adult members whose spelling is also downright atrocious! And, I'm not referring to typos because the person is typing too fast...

  • I think it's cool that you're getting a guitar. If you think $300 is a lot, I play piano and my piano cost $75,000. I think it's good to be diversified in your hobbies. I have many hobbies other then Numismatics. I hope you still participate on these boards.image

How long did it take you to save for the piano??
When I was a child, I caught a fleeting glimpse
  • Well, actually my parents bought it for me.

  • The most expensive one they make is $300,000.

  • Just out of curiosity, what is the make/model of your piano?

My wife out of the kindness of her heart surprised me with a
Samick SG-171 Baby Grand a couple of years ago. I absolutely love it.

    Got pix? image

(sorry - I know this is WAY O.T.)
  • I can't remember the make of it right now. It's a Yamaha. It's the biggest one they have, a 9 footer. The $300,000 one is basically all hand made and is only 7 feet.

  • hmmm... full Yamaha Grand.

    Very nice. image

I played the Yamahas, but didn't care for the touch as well as the SG-171.
A little stiff for my liking.

However, other Samick models did not compare to this particular 171 - so
it may just have been an exceptional instrument.

OK - I'll shut up now... back to coins. image
  • KlectorKid - enjoy your musical adventures! After more than 25 years with music, I always enjoy it.

We use a nice Yamaha studio piano (nice ebony finish, great mechanism, great key feel.)

Just remember what the top of my signature says.image
  • I just looked it up and it's the model CFIIIS. Here's a pic I took off Yamaha's website.

  • SWEET! image

Now... just rest our concerns that you're playing a sufficient amount of Gershwin and Rachmaninoff to keep
    that beautiful girl happy! image
  • Is that Yamaha a 850cc or 1000cc? What's the top speed and how's it from 0 to 60? image

    !@#$ rice burners-don't Harley make a piano?
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • I love playing it. I basically only play classical pieces. I've spent 5 hours straight before just playing and playing pretending I have a huge audience. I just love it so much that words can't explain it.image

my brother plays violin semi-professionally. he has 2. 1 is a stradivarius copy from the early 19th century, appraised for $75K, and the other is a rare french maker from early 1900's, appraised at $40K. i told him to sell them off and i'd invest the proceeds in coins for him..... image

I for one, apologize for posting OT. There was no intention of crapping up your thread.

    Sorry.
  • I also apologize. I think it's great that a lot of the coin people share the same interests, in this case music.image
