I bought a bunch of those a few years ago for $75 Ea. Good luck to all bidders, they are real nice errors to have... But Russ, it isn't a Kennedy!!!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • Hey Marty - Russ is into toned coins now. Don't see too many of them red nickels! image

I hope for Russ that it doesn't, but I'd bet $300. I won't bid on this one, but I'll try the next one I see.image

That coin will bring more than $300.00 IMO. I have a 1979-P Jeff on a cent planchet. Really cool errors to have. I also have two Washington quarters on nickel planchets (1998-D and 1970-D) and one SBA dollar on a quarter planchet (1999-P MS66 NGC).
  • I'm just glad that coin "IS" in a new PCGS holder!

These are nice errors. I've seen an ANACS MS65 example, it was green, prooflike and had full steps, an awesome coin.
This one looks a little beat up and overgraded. There may be a difference in quality between the copper and zinc planchets.

  • I suppose this is why we specialize! I'm not really into Jefferson's, Lincoln's or errors. Just stumbled on it because the seller has Early American Coppers. I thought this was real unusual. That's okay, still a real cool coin to me. Good luck, Russ!!
