PCGS Collector’s Club

I became a Gold Club Member about six months ago. At the time, I had coins that I wanted to submit to PCGS and I took advantage of the four free submissions for new members. I was wondering how many of you consider it worth the money to continue membership after the first year. If so, why?

Thanks,

Dan

I used to be a collector's club member, but am no longer. I stopped because I no longer submit any coins to PCGS. If in the future I wished to, I can always do so through many of the dealers I know.

I thought you would get 4 more each year that you re-uped. If not I don't see any advantage other than the free pop report. And as far as the pop report goes you can always ask for it on the forum and someone will let you know what you want to know.

Another way to get the pop report info is to go to the registry sets and see what some of the grade populations are and also the next pop higher. Thats what the HepKitty does...

for US coins I'm not so sure it's worth it. I can get faster service and better prices submitting through a large dealer. the $15 world coin economy service is a pretty good deal though ($5 less than ICG and only $5 more than ANACS). Most world coin dealers call slabs "tombs" and seek to liberate coins from them.

I have 10 coins in for grading right now, 4 US freebies and 6 foreign. Been two weeks on the US coins and still nothing on the status page image just "further processing pending."
  • Hi Dan- You get 4 free coin submissions each time you renew your one year membership. I think they also have a special bonus- a free PCGS MS68 silver eagle. It's worth joining if you plan to send in 4 or more coins for grading. And how about that ASE in 68?
careful- that light at the end of the tunnel might be a freight train!
