How come the numbers in the pop report don't equal the total?

in PSA Set Registry Forum
In some sets the number of cards in each grade doesn't equal the total, the total is more. The 48 and 49 Football Leaf sets are an example. Anyone know why and which numbers are correct? Thanks

    i think it's because the on-line pop report doesn't show all the cards graded with qualifiers. the total figure includes those cards, but they're only accounted for in a few individual grade columns, usually 9q and 8q. a 6mc, for example, would be counted in the total, but wouldn't be accounted for in any one grade column.
