How Long Does It Take To Say Goodbye

To coins that you have recently bought before taking them to the dark and lonely safebox? I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a process I go through first before taking them to the safe box.

And I even have a safe mounted in my house. But after a few too many coins are in there I start to get a little nervous and take them to the vault. I just recently bought an original toned proof 66 barber quarter. So I will take some other pieces to the bank first , before I say goodbye to this one.

Stman - Take a good picture of the coin before it goes in the vault.
Then you can look at it to your hearts content. image

Depends on how nice they are. If it's a coin I love, then usually about a week, with occasional visitation rights.

  • A week or two for me. But then again, working in the same building as the bank where my coins are stored makes things less painful.
  • Sometimes a day, sometimes a week, but I usually get pretty good visitation rights!
  • I haven't thought about this but I know I drive the lady at my bank nuts with my visits to the safety deposit box. I also bug her by requesting any old, interesting Lincoln cent rolls that may have been turned in...
