Is there a PCGS Yellow label?

I saw an ad for a PCGS Yellow Label. How old are they?

There is a faded green tab that for all intents is yellow.

Here are a couple of pictures of what I think they consider to be yellow inserts, alongside green ones. All were purchased around 1991, and the inserts are NOT faded. I'm colorblind, but can usually see yellow. The quality of the pictures isn't the greatest, but they show the different colors.

They are all "green". The color fades to yellowish if the slab gets some sun. They can go almost colorless with enough sun...

I have several yellows but find it hard to believe the sun changed them from green. They have always been in the vault.

for those of you who obviosly didnt know...PCGS at one time did have a pee-yellow insert. Ive
seen quite a few.

Thanks Bill. I haven't seen one exacty the color you describe The scans posted look like faded greens, I've had one or two of those.

All this means I need to see more coins... Long Beach here I come!

Conder101 believes that there were no yellow inserts, that any that appear yellow were originally green, and changed in appearance because of the low quality of the printing ink. I have no idea one way or the other, but with all the research he's done on these I tend to think that he probably knows what he's talking about.

Sounds like a good question to get answered once and for all on the Q&A Forum. I'm not saying yellow never existed, but mine look like faded green. Is there a "Yellow" insert, and a "Yellow, formerly known as green" insert as well? I have only had the later, so I can't speak to the first.

They were originally green and toned over time to a pea-yellow/green. The market might just take off for toned inserts.

ya know looking at mine, they vary in their "degree" of yellowness...ill try and scan em but Conder is most likely right.

The preservatives in the paper might have turned the color in to an unstable state, causing them to change varying degrees of yellow.

A yellow label means that the slab has Hepatitis and jaundice. Its probably contagious,
so wash your hands after you handle it. Bear
