Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

Hey! Those coins are pretty cool! Remember that there is still quite a bit of gold in those coins as well!
JJacks
thanks for the laugh
P.S. Braddick... got any truly P01 Buffalos? I'd like to see what that might look like.
Since the date is weak to begin with on buffs, unless it was a coin such as the 37-D 3-legger which needs no date to be identified, I don't think a PO-01 could possibly be slabbed...
Could Braddick have just been way ahead of his time?

i agree that the younguns can be quite sensical, while we're often all being nonsensical, but i think petescorner (Dan) might be a shade older than a teenager. (seeing as how he's got him a youngun already). but he is quite sensical from what i've read him write and i'm sure he'll take it in the good way that you meant.
And those three are IMO , among the best.

The problem with these is there is NO WAY of knowing the Pops because PCGS won't list any coin VF08 and under!
I've seen raw 2 1/2 Indians that were PO01 (in fact a board member here showed me one in an ANACS PO01 holder at the last Long Beach show!).
Most of these coins were good luck charms/ pocket pieces.
Now, be honest: Wouldn't it be cool to see a High Relief 1907 in PO01?

What does a VF08 look like, anyway?
Anyway, I agree with you, it is kind of annoying the way PCGS lumps grades together (especially in this case the P1 through G6 range). Heck, since they assign grades of P1, F2, etc, why not show them? Use a smaller font, add a few pages to the guide. This ain't rocket science, boys.
It would be very interesting to see the breakout of 1793 Half cents, or 01-S quarters, in that range, for example.
I wonder if their online reports break it out in finer detail? Anyone know?
Dave
Also, if PCGS can label a coin MS08 (on a recent off metal War Nickel) I figured that gives me editorial rights to make the same error!
