Look i have nothing bad to say about akafocus i think he can say what he wants but this is just not cool.

    Akafocus, you got your own site....why not worry about that. Stop trying to become the big guy on this site. Go back to SCS or stay here, but trade. Stop policing. CU can take care of that. Im getting sick of all this. And you preach about how we should all be trading, then trade. I have never seen you post anything about trading. All I see is your advertising for your site or you trying to show that your boss.

    Its getting old.

    anyone else wonder why the admins at CU do nothing about the ripoffs/scammers lurking their forums, yet we've got toy cop here giving out warnings and threatening to ban just because he feels like it...

    akafocus - i don't know you, and honestly don't care to... but whomever gave you your toy cop status has to be emabarrassed by the way you are throwing your supposed power around. I'm going to take a wild guess that you didn't have many friends growing up.

    CU admins (Carol, Charlie, whoever) - I'm not sure who assigned the newbie the responsibility of cleaning up the forum, but it was a bad call. With new sites like TR and CE flourishing now isn't the time to place power into the hands of someone who is going to drive people away from your forum.

    The admins have expressed what is not welcome here. They have a lot to deal with and it takes them awhile to get around. CE and TR are anything but flourishing. Collectors Universe is one of the powerhouses of this industry. CE an TR are nowhere close. You forget who and what drives away people and that is vile and degrading speech. Elevate your mind for once and get the facts strait. If you think that CU can allow people to cuss and attack each other on its board for long you are very naive. I do not want to slam any of you. I PM'ed a member to warn him in good faith. He takes it upon himself to make it public and take my good will and twist it into something it is not.

    CU's has 2, just two administrators for over 7000 members. Their hands are full. They elude to changes coming. I have no problem with warning about scammers. I have a problem with it being debase. I warned him for his benefit, not mine. I know full well that I will be jumped for it. Maybe one day you guys will get that I am not against you. I am trying to warn you of what is going to happen.

    Collectors Universe is huge in many collectibles. The measure of a company is not always in the stock value. They own 80% of the modern sports card grading market and 90% of the vintage. Yes, that is a powerhouse. Their stock is definately in decline. However, I believe that they are commited to changing that. Roger Johnson their current CEO has done a great job and they are poised for a turn around. I hope that it comes to pass.

    To suggest that they need the support of a few cussing on their board, you have to be trying to make me laugh. As far as I can see they are not trying to bite anyone. They have a registration agreement. They make comments saying what is acceptable here. How much more do you need? I have not attacked anyone. I have tried to let guys that are in danger know. Each time they bite ME for warning them. I wish someone warned me when something was going to happen. You admit they need to watch their language. Why attack me for trying to let them know privately? Serves no purpose.

    In other words, you love taking the bullet for someone else. I highly doubt that. If they are about to get kicked for their language, then let them. CU isn't everything. There are always alternatives. People come here to trade and lately, it doesn't seem like much of that going on. Just leave it alone. What happens, happens. If I am ever on the edge of getting kicked off, don't tell me. I'd find out eventually. Trust me. Just like everyone else.

    Actually I do. Drives my wife nuts. Maybe enjoy is not the right word. More like, I remember what it is to be young and brash. If I can help just one younger guy to avoid some pitfalls, I am cool with that. So, I am mistaken most of the time in this setting. It really is a small part of who I am and what I do.

    Keep up the good work akafocus! You are very valuable here. Everybody loves having someone tell them EVERY time they do something wrong. Plus just think about all the friend's you're gonna make here. You're like bobstars mini-me.     akafocus, I've made my peace with you, and frankly, I think you're a good person whants the best for this site. But please, take a step back from this and look at your responses.

    Many times, if someone questions you (whether in a rude fashion or not) your response is definitely one that could be veiwed as arrogant or threatening. I don't think you mean to do it, but go back and re-read this thread, and try to see what I mean. Think of the things Carol and Charlie do that work for them...they explain whatever action is being taken, they do it in a straightforward, non-confrontational way, and when they ahve to take action against someone, they avoid taunting or relishing in that victory. I think for that reason, people avoid attacking Chalrie and so often gravitate to you...to them, you make a good villian.

    I'm assuming that CU's forums and financed by advertsing, correct? And advertisers need to see a certain number of hits on a site to set their rates. Assuming that is the case, the only way your averge member can hurt the boards is by leaving completely, and lowering interest in the boards. No, 3-4 people won't make a difference, but if less and less start coming here because they feel it is unfairly run, that will make a negative impact.

    I hope I haven't come as vile or insulting to you - as you know, I am trying to bemore civil. I just think these are issues worth addressing, and I cna understand why people are so angry with you.
