Ooh, a nice smackdown on sellers who overcharge for shipping.

He even names names. I wonder if eBay will toast this under their "gratuitous comments" policy?

Russ,

Get out of the 64 sets. You already have plenty......image

Looks like he pulled no punches. But how many 1964 silver proof sets are rare?

I don't understand what the anger is all about.

We can all agree that some sellers charge what we consider excessive shipping & HANDLING charges, but what is there to get angry about?

DON'T BUY!!!

I don't think it is fair for him to rip the other sellers as long as the sellers state the shipping & handling charges in the auction.

While we may not like excessive shipping & handling charges, they are not against e-bay rules but I do believe what he has done is against e-bay rules and his auction should be pulled.

IMHO. Joe.

None, of course. But that doesn't stop sellers from saying they are. Good for a chuckle.

Don't think I agree with putting cash in the mail.

• Hmmm, he says 1964 Proof Set Silver RARE!! NO Shipping

First off, it ain't rare, let alone RARE!! and second off, if I win something, I kind of want it to be shipped to me. image

If he does decide that NO Shipping is rather unrealistic, and sinnce he likes cheap shipping so much, I wonder if he will just write your name on the proof set envelope, stick a stamp on it, and throw it in a mailbox? Couldn't get too much cheaper than that. image

yeah, i've always wondered wha'ts the big deal about sellers with high shipping. just subtract the excess from your max bid!

• Maybe it's the "NO SHIPPING" part that is "RARE!!"

I received ten dollars cash in the mail for payment of an auction. Trusting soul.

Maybe he means there will be NO shipping.image

Joe.
• Interesting to note in his ratings, he is never shown as a seller, only a buyer. Maybe will change his
opinion soon.
• The big deal on shipping is it represents a price increase after the sale. Yes you can pass on the deal, and you should read it before you bid, etc.... But if you are willing to sell a slabbed pf69 kennedy for 14.00, why add 7.00 shipping to it? (for example).
• Shipping costs should be reasonable, sure. But the buyer has the last say. If he disagrees with shipping and "handling" costs, he doesn't bid.

This guy is a bit slimy for blasting his competitors. Obviously, if he has only been a buyer, he is bitter at paying the charges that he agreed to in the past. After looking at his feedback, I find I am right. It looks like he tried to negotiate different terms after the sale on at least one auction.

Not only would I not buy from this person, I wouldn't sell to him either.
