  • yep! Well done Steve!!!!!!!!!!!

Not trying to dampen the joyous celebrations here, but did anyone notice that Andie Hailey is back just behind me with 50%. I knew that Keith was playing around with the 71's again as he had bought a load of duplicates from me, but he sure entered with a grand slam!

Talk about making a set bend to your will...

Steve's 71 just went from 8.15 to 8.19 GPA with 752 cards and he's only about 5 or 6 cards from completion. I just hope he doesn't start a 72 set before the awards go out in a month!!!!

I love that set. Awesome job!
  • David, why don't you take on the 71 set. I think we would all like to see what you could do with that bad boy.

I might do that someday. That set is insanity for sure.

It's not too late to switch to 6's and 7's rather than those pesky 8's, 9's, and 10's!

I know of a good set on Ebay right now! image

Congratulations Steve !!! I just spoke with the Rally Monkey and he was very excited about your achievement. He did mention to me that you just registered some 1965 cards....is that your next challenge?

Best of Luck with your sets,

    John
  • This are definately right in the world...It doesn't compare to the 26 Championships of the Yankees, but it was great to see from the left field bleachers. And its one more championship than Seattle has (hey Frank S.!) Putting up a couple of 7s in my set to get it complete is a bit on the cheesy side. If anyone has the following 1971 Topps 8s for sale or trade, I could sure use them: 34, 294, 462, 520, 572, 651, 678.

The 65 (and 66) set are much slower projects. I'll still probably sell any 9s I get and the 8s on the registry are available to those who need them. When I get closer to completing the sets I wont sell any more, but for the time being they are available.

And when you add Emmitt Smith breaking the rushing record, SC thumping Oregon, and the Reps. looking good for November...things just cant get any better.
  • Steve:

Let me add my name to the list of those congratulating you on your awesome set. The quality of the cards you obtained in such a short period of time is truly amazing. Next time I am down in California, let me know what the admission fee is to see it. I would rather do that than go to Disneyland or Universal Studios. Also, congratulations on your Angels winning the series. Believe it or not, I rooted for them the entire way. I figured that if the best team in baseball couldn't be there, at least someone from the same division might as well be! ;-) In any case, I will just keep focusing on who won the season series between the two clubs. All joking aside, the Angels had a wonderful season and deserved to be the champs.

By the way, do you have any graded 75's available?
