totally amazing! cleaned junk vs. Nice toned

okie dokie....

I have read and re-read all of the "it looks so good toned" and "it's original if it's toned" and "it's worth more if it's toned"....

Okay - answer me this:

Why is a nice BU Uncirculated Morgan that is TONED getting a whole HECK of a lot less attention than one that I PERSONALLY cleaned with a Pressure Washer on my Driveway???

This is the "Nice toned" morgan: Toned one

and this is the Pressure Washed One: Washed One

What's the deal? If you ask MY opinion, whcih, I agree - a lot of you won't and do not give a rats @$$ - it's because one has a LOT of eye appeal and the other doesn't and that's that. Toning makes a coin LOOK old - -

That's my 2 indianheads worth on the TONING stuff. Oh - but don't forget - I backed it up with proof from the marketplace image

edited for spelling - oh and - why do my posts always get 82 responses?

I wish these damn things would get sold so we wouldn't have to have them continually infiltrate every other thread on this board and the BST.

Very creative way to once again SPAM the US Coin forum with your auctions. Kudos.

    SOS, different day..................................
  • Russ -

Just looking for the real reason that most of the folks here say "toning" is attractive. It apparently isn't... as these 2 auctions have been shown exactly the same amount of times on the BST board.

First of all, I do not see a BU Morgan, but it may just be the scan sucks. Second, until the lot closes you cannot judge the prices. So...why don't you wait until they close so you can make an accurate comment instead of just trying to spam us with your listings (again and again).

As for your indians, on a set of 1880-1909 I didn't even get $1 per coin, so I would think you are doing good (much more than they are actually worth on the one lot).

    its4real,

Are you really so dense that you can't learn that it's offensive to many here when you hawk your wares on the U.S. Coin forum? Or, are you such a jackarse that you simply don't care to play nice with the rest of us?

I'll betcha that if we started a petition with Carol to get rid of you, we'd be rid of you pretty darn quickly...

Just to give you some incentive for you to grow up: your incessant violation of the U.S. Coin forum etiquette will only cause you trouble here and on E-Bay. Do you not realize that no one here will bid on any of your auctions? Do you realize that people here are far more inclined to warn potential bidders AWAY from your auctions?

Your behavior here not only is the height of immaturity but also stupidity. Stupid because you are alienating a portion of your customer base and your support base, and you don't seem to care.

You really should just go away and back to selling used cars or insurance or whatever else you used to do. No one would really, truly miss you.

why's its4real being accused of spamming? exactly how many of you have bid on his auctions due solely to the fact that you saw them here on the forum?

  • Here is the reason why.You used this THREAD to get people to look at the coin. What they were really doing was looking at your creative description, which I like by the way,and that is what created the difference in the counter hits.

Your toned coin is somewhat typical. It is not of the type that attracts the "toned" collectors. But if you are just talking about the "counters" and not the bids, then, maybe someone is looking for a specific "date" OR maybe it is as NastyNic says.

You wouldn't really be posting this just for extra looks, right? Come on guys, even some of the "no longer present" weren't that devious; well, at least, not as far as "spamming the forum" goes.
