2002-D sac struck through a thread?

I was just looking through a roll of these coins today and I came across this one that has been struck through a piece of thread ? It goes from the rim through the date across through the baby's head to the rim. worth more than a dollar? Thanks mike

      • Looks cool. I think it would be worth more then a dollar. I've seen state quarters struck through stuff like that, which have brought big money.

      • I can't tell from the photo, but it's sometimes easy to mistake damage for a strike-through.

If it is an error, generally speaking the more dramatic the better. Not sure this one rises to "Days of Our Lives" status. image

yeah it's not real dramatic. It looks like a scratch from a couple of feet away but it is a strike-thru. mike

That's pretty cool. It might be wire too. It's not worth a whole lot because that is a minor object that was struck thru but is worth more than a $.
ps why does that Indian woman have a baby's head in a sack over her shoulder?
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.

That's why they're called SACKajaweas. image

The model for Sacagewea is an Indian lady named Randy L'Teton, and the "baby's head", is actually a WalMart doll. Randy did an internship at ANA headquarters a couple of summers back, and was really great about signing just about anything you put in front of her. I agree that the strike through is worth more than a dollar, but is not dramatic enough to command big bucks. I have been selling a Virginia quarter on eBay, struck though grease, with the devices barely recognizable, for prices ranging between $30 and $70.
