Gator5 - Matt - Qualtiy Dealer

I just had a run of bad luck, and had to sell my 1981 Set registry Set (Jeff's 1981 Topps set). That SUCKED, but I wanted to let everyone know that Matt (gator5) has helped me out a lot in the past with selling dupes at reasonable rates, as well as selling me some of the unopened material at reasonable prices. I rarely venture on these hallowed pages, except to lurk and smirk. But, given Matt's help with this very tough hobby effort, I thought I should give him a big thumbs up and recomend that you look him up if you need any of the harder-than-heck to find 81 topps.image

I will second that I just bought some from ebay from him at great prices and have just bought 23 81 9's from him at a cant beat price.
This guy is fair with his pricing and his communication has been outstanding. Also I would like to thank you for you offering your set to us registry guys. That shows alot of class and cofidence in us not to mention you gave me an awesome price on it. I look forward to putting it back on the current finest.

  • Wow guys,

Thanks for all praise, I myself just like to help folks on this crazy venture. This is a very collectable set if you can get through the rift raft. Thanks to all the guys that have made it possible (Frank Smith, Jeff Vaniel, Phil Apostle, Bernie aka playball and newbie Jeff aka stump) many of nights I've sat here wondering why I've picked this set. This is my second set I've ever collected first was 81 donruss couldn't see this happening yet hint hint I've already started. My quest to kill this set in 9's and better with 25% tens will be one to be chased for years. If you think you can do it lets see it for all you folk that think it's a breeze.

So with all that said a new batch will be here in a month as I sit writing submissions at the moment. For all the gent that would like to hop on board lmk as I have some 9's left all high end promise on that. That's what I deal unless stated. Get on the list now before it's to late.

    Thanks again, Mattimage
  • I would like to add my name to the list of people giving kudos to Matt. Over the past few months, I have completed a number of transactions (buys, sells, and trades) with Matt and have been pleased with them all. He has a good eye for grading cards and is a first class guy! I appreciate the help he has provided in putting together my childhood sets and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Frank
Looking for 1975, 1978, and 1979 Topps Baseball in high end PSA 9 and PSA 10.

  • Frank,

I find you to be the classiest guy in the hobby thanks for the kind words. I'm sure you'll like this batch also.

  • Matt,
Again, it's sad about you leaving your 78's, but I suspect you'll be back. Pack-fresh and stronger than ever. Anyone contemplating a purchase from Matt (Gator05) keep in mind; he doesn't even submit what others turn 9's on. Anyone who purchases 9's off eBay has seen more sliders than a big-league cleanup hitter--none of that with Matt.
He's proud of his finds and should be...I've actually seen his 81's. They look like tiffany's! Along with Dom's 84 donruss it has to be considered for BEST MODERN BASEBALL SET!
Can't wait to see the '65 football! image Phil
  • Phil,

Thanks for the kind words, I hear ya on the sliders. Oh so funny (god hates the cubs) yeah but thats the tradition. Anyhow thanks again.

    Thanks Matt aka 81 guru

  • gator just sent this "ttt"
all the kudos in the world about how great a guy he may be, just got shot out the window as far as I am concerned since he is arrogant enough to ttt a thread that praises himself. sounds like a real jerk to me.
  • Guys,

Yes in might not have been the smartest thing to do. I was pulling this up for duke of mint as he asked me for references. Hmm Mr. Tucker nothing more arrogant than making a comment and you don't know the story but how could you correct. Maybe you should of asked and don't bother bidding on my auctions this week when I run all my 64 and 65 1 of 1's...Now thats arrogant...

  • no skin off my nose buddy.
I would not buy from you or any other high brow, smart-ass types anyway.
you're a loser that is just trying to self-promote you stupid auctions and since you got a couple of good comments a month ago, you thought you would just push it up to the top for everyone to enjoy again.
    what a putz!
  • Tuck,

Smartass, putz, loser, hmmmm. Thats just who I want bidding on my auctions..As I sit here and a customer asks for references he's a president of a co. I found it much more time consuming for him to just read the top of the board because I knew he had it in his favorites than to spend half his morning trying to email everyone..Self promote if I wanted to self promote which I will it's only to help other collectors out to finish sets as I deal with most of them offline anyway...

    Guys,

Sorry for the hassle...I'll think it through next time sorry if I offended any of you..

  • This is the Duke OF Mint-Those of you putting 61,65,and63 sets together have seen me actively bidding on e-bay in these years-I am currently working with Gator on a deal to purchase 3 of the 7 cards I need to complete my 65 set-to date he has been very responsive and cooperative-I expect to receive these cards once my check clears

  • Hey guys,

I know his check will clear, I send when check comes not when clears. When it comes to you big wigs. I just don't need the bad rap of someone giving me crap about ttt a thread to let someone know I'm legitimate.

I'm just a little guy that makes a living. When it comes to vintage I'm dealing with a whole new crowd I know you don't know me but wish you did....Hopefully if anyones in chitown in nov. we'll meet. Untill then I'll be running some nice auctions in 63's 4's and 5's this next week........Keep in mind these are not mine just a cosignment type deal..

Again I'm hear to help as I find myself swimming in vintage and not knowing any of you....

    Matt-

Are any those 1965's from Zeder?

Also...when the day comes where the Dukes check does not clear...who will care because we will all be dead...armaggeddon will be upon us.

You're great in my book! If one person can judge another based on three typed letters on a message board then they are a lot more insightful than I'll ever be. Let me know about those 65's.
