Bad Submission results, or, How can you tell if you copper is corroded?

Oh, what a bummer. Man, what a bummer!

I sent off an 1864 2center to ANACS i got while on vacation. I bought it because, on the reverse, the C in cents, as well as half of the S & T in states was . . .well, not there. If you looked close, you cold see the outline, and i figured it was a filled or polished die. Well, i sent it off in early/mid Aug, and got it back today. (economy) I graded it myself at XF 45, with possibliy a filled/polished die. ANACS graded it "EF Details, Net VF 30, Large motto, CORRODED. I was right on the "details" grade, what ever that is, but how can i spot corrosion? I dind't see any rust on it. . . .. what are the guidelines for corrosion?
UGH!!!!!!
At least i didn't get it bodybagged. And I also got an 82 proof set from Jtryka, so maybe that'll make me feel better.

Please help!!!!
