I get how this works. I asked a question (started a Thread) but it won't list until it is read (approved?) and then responded to.
It'll be interesting to see the types of questions that filter through and the ones that don't (not that we'll know those!).

Rick - Im the fifteen or so years since the inception of PCGS,has there ever been any circumstances where copper has changed color because of the plastic holder or the gasket ?

Because of the PCGS guarantee concerning the color of copper, what would be some of the reasons for copper to turn ?

Don't ask about the computer "bug" in the "submission status" page. (Why you have to take the "zero" off the number to get it to work)

Carol will yell at you..... and be mean about it.

So.... Beware don't ask that question!

So here's my question. Is anyone else having this same problem?

Yes. I posed a question a few hours ago about how(what criterion) PCGS grades DMPLs, but I don't see it anywhere. Carol said they would be at the bottom of the coin section wherever that is. I'm stumped, which is pretty easy to do at my age. Anybody know where the questions are hiding?
  • The link works fine for me and I can even see the Q&A forum on my front page. It isn't at the bottom of the coin section, but it is in the coin section.

Carol and Rick, I think this is a great idea. image This way some of our more interesting, important questions can be answered by an expert and all can see the responses. I applaud you both for starting this forum. image

  • Rather than click on the link you can go to the Navigation drop down box near the top of the page and select "Q & A Forum" which is just under the PCGS Set Registry Forum in the list.

  • My, that looks familiar.

Stewart - I posed a more general question about the PCGS copper guaranty shortly after this new forum started. Still waiting for it to show up there. It would be interesting to tag your more specific questions along with it.
  • My question regarding why I received an SMS coin designation on a satiny, business strike with absolutely no resemblance to a SMS coin(no squared off rims, nothing) was graded as such. I asked Carol to see if Rick or someone could do something about it and she said she would contact operations for me and never heard a word.

When the forum was there, I believe it said it was going to go away at the end of the business day today, and then re-appear when Rick M. has answered the questions.

  • Thanks to Carol and Rick for the Q&A forum. I hope we see this as an ongoing forum, either available all the time, or, at least, available for periodc Q&A sessions as we've had the last couple days.

    Thanks again,

    Pete
  • Sweet, Rick actually answered my question. Thanks Carol and Rick for the extra time you guys had to take to make this possible. I hope it continues, nice move PCGS.

  • I have asked several very difficult questions, that have yet to be answered, and before you say anything...yes one of them was the first day it started... to be truthful, they probably wont answer either one of them, that might cause them to be liable....for many mistakes that have been made...
But all in all, this is a pretty good idea, thanks.

After I entered my question, and hit the "post message". I received the message

You cannot post to this category.

Is this normal? Will PCGS screen the questions first before they decide whether the questions will be posted?
I did read the bold letters when I click the "new topic" and they are

I don't get that, either. How can they review our questions if we can't post them? image

  • The "post" switch has been moved to the OFF position. Perhaps it'll be turned on again in a few days?
