IHC Variety Collectors.....

Check this one out:

Click on the picture of the penny - I saw at least the following:

Obverse - Die clash (?) underneath the Indian's chin
Reverse - Die cracks at 11:00, 1:00 and 2:00 and possibly at 5:00

There is something else between the indian and the date, but I cannot tell whether it is an extension of the die clash or something else. All in all, a pretty interesting set of varieties on a single coin!

    Interesting coin, a lot of action (clash and breaks). I really am not really up on IHCs but that doesn't look ms65 to me.

    Nice find, thanks for sharing it. I recently posted more typical examples of 1864 clashes, but I've never seen an example with the bottom half of the obverse showing the clash. What you see above the date are the vertical lines of the shield. Appears to have been cleaned long ago and now has an odd tone for bronze, but to a variety collector still a cool coin.
