I just came across a 1998 quarter with a small clip
probably 5% if that much. I also noticed that the
at the very spot of the clip the copper core has
reversed it's position. There is an explaination for
this as it pertains to disk clips on clad coins in the Plaid Book.
And I suppose this is pretty close to being disk clip. The
problem is I just don't get it. I just don't understand
the explaination given in the Plaid Book. I would greatly
apperciate it if there is someone who could please explain
why the copper core reverses at the clip.
Thanks---confused and prone to wandering.

"It's an experimental division at Ft. Benning, and
your lucky to be assigned there rather than anywhere
else, because nobody knows anything about it, which
means that you should know quickly as much about it
as anybody."
