its 12:06 here in NY. it marks the 1 year anniversary of the WTC attacks. I can't get this topic off my mind for some reason.. I for one was greatly affected since one of my best friends father was a firefighter who died. hopefully today we can have a nice day on the board w/o any arguing or complaining, just trading.

I was also going to post a thread about calling off all the fighting and bickering for one day. I'm in. Everything else seems so small considering what happened one year ago today.

hey man, i was in pm homeroom, and when it was anounced, i was just like omg.when i got home, i watched some tv and saw what actually happened. im about two hours away from nyc in nj. i hope that we can stop the fighting for this one day and remember what happened one year ago.

I was at lunch last year ( I was a h.s. senior) when everyone's parents started to come to my school to pick up everyone. my father came and got me aroun 2:15 and when he told me that " the WTC are gone" I could not believe it since I had been there a few times before and could not imagine NYC w/o them. my friends father was off that day and he went into his fire dpt., Rescue 5 just to help out and he was one of the first ones there and was inside when the tower collapsed. His dpt. lost I think 11 men which is alot for a small firehouse.

one of my friends who lives in nyc, was in school about 5 or 6 blocks away from the trade towers. she said that when the planes hit them, the ground rumbles, and then when the collapsed it was like and earthquake. her uncle was a police officer who died.
