PCGS Happy Ending

It was a strange day....
I woke up this morning and I must have slept wrong the night before as my neck was aching, I jumped into the shower and afterwards, slapped on the nicotine patch. Before I realized it, my neck felt fine. I checked my email and had two companies contact me in regards to employment. Went to Babies R Us, bought a ton of baby stuff and it was cheaper than I thought. I came home and my neighbors said the roofing guys had come by (had a complete rip and re-roof done last year and it leaked last week) and cleaned out the gutters and?? I'm not sure what else they did. My neighbor described them as having caulking guns.

I sat down and... are you guys sitting down???? The phone rings... are you guys sitting down? It was none other than Rick Montgomery.... Oh, I forgot to mention the gas company hooked up my new stove and the garbage men picked up the old stove today. image okay, RickM called which totally suprised me! We discussed the situation with the coins and cleared the air. Am I happy with the situation as a whole? No, I was uncomfortable with the situation with my coins. Am I happy about the resolution... I feel better about it right now and I have to say that it was the personal touch of a phone call from RickM that put my mind at ease.

oh...and my Fantasy Football team scored the most points... Why was today such a good day?

Glad to hear you got some resolution to your problem. People that know him say he is a great guy.
  • Why is everyone complaining about PCGS customer service?

Probably the type no one could ever make happy.image

Quick ... everyone save this thread ... happy and PCGS in the same sentence? We could go for years without stumbling upon that combination of words again! image
  • Dakra--I just started the patch yesterday. Seems to be working pretty well. How is it going for you?

What was the resolution - or are you under a secrecy agreement with Mr. Montgomery?

    caulking guns!!
that doesn't sound good. I'd get up there and find out what they did and where they used that stuff. You shouldn't need caulk on a new roof! It'll leak again in a few years!

    btw,
can someone provide a link to what this is about? I'm curious. Or at least an abbreviated version.
    thanks

If it's the piece I'm thinking about, I'm happy thing went the positive direction.

Now for a REAL patch, go for the phentyl 25mg duragesic(sp?),,,, now that's a patch that'll float you though your dayimage

  • TheNumish,
I also started with the patch yesterday and made it all through the day without too much of an urge but towards the end of the day, the urge was there. I haven't put the patch on this morning yet and it's driving me crazy. I'm going to jump into the shower and throw the patch on and hopefully I will feel a bit better. I probably slept about 5 hours last night, tossed and turned but I do feel refreshed today.

The one thing I learned the last time I tried is, if I wore the patch when I went to sleep at night or took a quick nap during the day, I would have vivid dreams...strange dreams.

Other than that, drink plenty of water, have pretzels handy and go for a walk as often as you can. Walking is great because it helps you burn off that extra energy and at the same time keeps your mind on something else. I sure wish they made a patch with a little sedative in it :-) or a night patch that had less nicotine in it.

Good Luck, if you need a support system, PM me and I will send you my email address.

I'm just a little confused: What is "The Patch?"

  • I buy the big Nicoderm patches and cut them in half. Friggin things are almost as expensive as the smokes themselves, which doesn't really motivate me to quit.

I tried the patch...but it was tough to light and smelled terrible!

    Oh yeah...burned my throat too.
  • Can you say what the resolution was? It's nice that you feel good but what did PCGS do to correct your problem (coins allegedly damaged during grading and sloppy slabbing)?

Can we assume that this thread refers to this thread Link?
