Coin dealers who live on another pricing planet.

Does this guy pay any attention to the market? These go around the $110 range, maybe as high as $150 for a primo example, and he's at $295 with a BIN of $350? I guess he doesn't care about his credibility among the collecting community?

He's in the same category as HSN and QVC.

Russ: You're right, its a $100 dollar coin. This guy used to have alot of ACG stuff on his website.
The sad thing is , someone will probably end up paying $400 for it.

    Brian.
  • He is a pretty bid dealer and operates out of Orange County, CA. HUGE average household income out there. Heck, he probably gets that for that coin from those fruitcakes! I've seen him pull these kind of auctions before. My guess is there are no '64 PCGS PR-69 Cameo Kennedy coins at auction currently. He's hoping to find a sucker wanting to put one of those in his collection right now! He has almost 13,000 Positive transactions, with a Feedback rating of 7,803. He's probably not real concerned with what this Forum thinks of him.

That's a weird coincidence - I was just thinking the other day about how long it's been since he's been a topic of discussion on the board.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

This one jumped out at me in particular since I just got an example in today that I paid $92 for, including buyer's fee and shipping.

This guy takes his starting price right from the pcgs price guide. I've seen some dealers starting ABOVE the guide price for what I hope are spectacular coins. The photo doesn't make this one fall into that group.

looks like all the bidders agree with you Russimage
  • I think I just saw one on heritage auction bid at around $250, or maybe it was $210...$300 is way way too high...especially for a mediocre one.
