Ripped Off -- I bought an undergraded coin!

I knew it was too good to be true -- an EF Iowa commem, but I bought it anyway. When I received it, I knew it was at least AU50, but I submitted it anyway. Received results today -- AU55. Ughhh! Oh well, a circulated Iowa is tough, I'm going to add it to my registry anyway.

  • Did I miss something here???
  • Guess I missed the same thing. image I thought AU was better than EF. That would make me happy. Were you trying for low grade stuff and were upset because it graded too high? image

A popular way to collect commems is to try to get the lowest grade possible. Something people do just for fun. I think Higashiyama wanted the lower grade to fit in his circulated set.

I feel your pain. you KNOW I feel your pain.

I had a PCI Commemorative cross from a VF30 to a PCGS XF45. What? I fifteen point jump?

But, that Iowa will fit until a lower one comes along.
I had to do the same thing (compomise) with my Reonoke.
    Those just DON'T come circulated!

Naw, gotta be selective. The Monroes and Columbians and Booker T's of the world are common in spent "average circulated" (always loved that term) condition.

Find me a Hawaiian in FN12!
