Buffalo crackout results

The following are six buffalo nickels that were cracked out and submitted for grading. Results just in!

1913-d NCG MS64 now PCGS 64
1916-s NCG MS63 now PCGS 62
1924 Anacs MS64 now PCGS 63 this coin came back AT was dipped and resent.
1929-d NCG MS62 now PCGS 61 Monster toned and didn't get AT!
1936-s NCG MS64 now PCGS 64
1937-s ICG MS65 now PCGS 65

I've cracked 5 ICG coins in my life, never had a down grade and did have one upgrade.

Your grading skills on the Buffalo nickel must be strong. You are to be commended. Great job!

5 for 5 crossing over ICG coins to PCGS. Seems we have found another series where ICG's strict grading practices are evident. I agree with Carl. I'll be sure to examine lots of ICG Buffalo nickels at my next show.

Curious, what did you use to "dip" the nickel? That can be somewhat dangerous I've heard. Silver not a problem but nickel???

i don't dip nickels myself, but have always heard dire stories of them turning black and blue (bruised???) and other bizarre colors.

1 word of advice: DO NOT crack out your circulated weak-strike key-date buff's! you'll get hanged out to dry!!! (discussed in a prev. thread)
