Dipping

I am new to collecting and have a question.

Is dipping an uncirculated silver coin to remove ugly toning a bad thing?

    Not if done right.
Some people would rather have a ugly toned original coin than bright dipped coin so it's a matter of personal taste.
  • And before you do (if you do) search the threads for discussions of proper technique. I've never tried it myself, but if I did, I'd want to follow the advice of the many "dippers" (not "dips"image) on the boards.
