HERE'S WHAT ONE CU MEMBER HAD TO SAY ABOUT VITTLEBOY AND OUR TRADE!!!

"That's his fault... I would not send his cards back to him. Tell him to go screw and that it's his fault he did not get more information.

He made a mistake on our trade also, he saw a card on my CU post and thought it was another one. I sent my cards to him at what was supposed to be the same time and he never sent them. When he got my cards he said that is not what he asked for which was cr@p because I still had the pm's. It took almost a month for me to get my cards back....after i basically had to beg and after I smeared him all over the board.

To his credit he at least sent my cards back though!

That is not mail fraud....he is sull full of sh@t he does no what hole it's coming out of!"

Sounds like this isn't the first time vittle made a mistake and turned it around like it was really the other person's fault......

I have heard similar stories about vittleboy from a few other people too.

  • You are still wrong, regardless...you are a disgrace to the hobby.
  • This is a real shame. A good trade is when both parties are happy in the end. Unfortunately... this hasnt occured. This just proves that there should have been more communication between the 2 of you... however... my thought is... for a difference of $200... it would have been nice for you to maybe ask if he is sure... and... outline the trade with years and the numbers of all the cards being traded.
  • It wasn't a $200 difference. The Garnett Finest RC is $80 and the ARod jersey sells for $40 on eBay so that's $100 in trade. That's $180. Someone told me that I should have known vittle wasn't going to give me $180 for $100, well he should have known I wasn't going to give him $300 for $180.
  • Euphoria - I have to agree with you - it's not a good trade unless both parties are happy with the cards they receive.

Pac - It's apparent that there was some miscommunication and that a very small part of the blame falls on Vittles for not asking more about the cards he was trading for.....but I know that I speak for many people on this board when I say that if you just keep his cards and don't make this deal right....you will have lost all respect on CU and there won't be many people trading with you in the future.

  • I might have done something to make it right if vittle had handled this the right way, in private, and not posted it all over the board. What good will it do now to make him happy after everyone already thinks I'm a rip-off and won't trade with me. Vittle decided to make the deal final by telling everyone I'm a rip-off. The deal was already final after we both agreed and sent but now it definitely is.
  • I beleive BOOK VALUE is irrelevant in some cases...as if someone wants a rare card(especially of their favorite player) then they will trade more for it...It is often understood by experienced traders that if you are trading like one or 2 solid cards for more cards(like 4-5+) then the person trading more cards should offer a little more in Book Value....Toss up here for me....
  • BTW I wouldn't have traded the Kobe/KG for any less. It was my favorite card and I had some offers of $150-$175 that I turned down.
  • Actually... on ebay... i found one arod /24 go for $57.99, one for $51. Either way... there was poor comunication in this trade. I never called you a bad trader... however... and this is just my opinion... you should reverse this trade as vittle wasnt happy. Whether you do or not... thats your choice.
  • You can't really count the one that sold for $57.99 since that was his jersey # (3/24.)

You also keep saying all of the BV's except for his card. The above card sells for less than the $100 book price on ebay as well, so why don't you put ebay prices on all of them? I bought a Garnett Finest RC on ebay about
4 months ago for a trade for $17, so isn't it only $17 by your standards?

  • I put the book values of all of the cards. I traded him a Kobe/KG jersey bv $100. He traded me a Garnett Finest RC bv $80 and an ARod jersey/24 which doesn't book. Since the ARod jersey/24 sells for around $40 I say that's $100 bv.
  • But it's only a guess... I have a Shanahan jersey card I just got, #ed/30 that books for $400. I've only seen two sell on ebay. The first was for $60 but it was before pricing came out in the book. The last one (after book pricing, but same solid color jsy with no special #) sold for over $180.

  • Ok, so that proves that cards sell for less than half on eBay. I was giving the ARod over half. So that means that vittle traded me around $140 for the Kobe/KG which is not so bad considering how hot Kobe is.
  • And that's still not the issue for me. I don't really care about BV's in this matter. All I am saying is that you may have been misleading in your listing. Not saying it was intentional, but none the less misleading. Many others may not ask you about your listings because there may not be a similar card from the year before, so they just figure out that it was mislisted. Fact is, trades on here are usually for fun. He said he was expecting to get something else and was unhappy with the trade. Why should you care? You get back that KG/Kobe that "was your favorite card".

  • The reason I traded it was because I was getting a KG Finest RC which I have been wanting for so long. The trade was agreed to and carried out, there's nothing to discuss.
  • And as far as ebay sales, there is no consistency on prices. I sold a Kovalchuk RC (BV - $150) on ebay a bit back for $92.00. Same card, same BV is now going for $40-50.

So why don't you work out a trade for just the Garnett Finest, because that's all you want supposedly?
    image
  • We already worked out the trade for the Garnett Finest RC. That's what began this whole discussion. After vittle sent he realized he didn't get the best end of the deal so he wants me to spend more time, more gas, and more money to send him back his cards and end up with nothing. The trade is, was, and will always be finished.
