Due to the state quarter program, the Washington quarter series has gotten a boost. The demand for key date Washington quarters is great. The last 1932 S I sold, an AG, went for around forty dollars. The one in the auction is rough, but it will fill a hole in somebody's album.

it's really hard to judge who the bidders are or what they may want the coin for. probably just to fill the hole in an album. it's actually a GOOD example when you figure that the date was known early on and managed to stay in circulation for so long to reach this putrid state!!! a nice circulated commemerative, don't you think?image

This coin grades fine, and is OK for it's grade. says the seller.
The coin is damaged, even the MM took a hit. Could be from Denver.

Isn't the dent on the right(viewers) knee of the eagle and the gash on the neck(obv.) the attributes of the fakes. I think that's what I just read about in CW, or am I just waaayyy off base on this one.

Geez, if it's fake, why not make a nicer fake? I think it's real. As mentioned before, it's a Parking Lot Special.

This seller has just been nominated into the Hype Hall of Fame. Anyone else second the motion?

What a hilarious crock of bovine feces.

Nevertheless, it is a key date coin and a hole filler for someone (Whether that damaged mintmark is a D or an S). The seller started it below face value, so you can't fault him there. I just think he stretched things in the description a teeeeny little bit. image

The first thing I think when I see it is fake.

    Porosity
Mint mark damage in crucial area
    Off-color
    Inconsistent damage
Softness of design <- sure sign
    Rim issues

Would that mean the coin has "PL" surfaces?
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

yeah, I kinda thought that mint mark just SMELLED bad. Could tell even from the pic.

Regardless, I think fourty bux is a lot even if it is real for piece in that condximage
    Philately will get you nowhere....
  • The mintage for the P's is 5.4 million... considerably more than the D & S. Does this have any value at all?
