Bad feedback snipers who won't contact you

Don't you just HATE IT when you have an auction getting ready to close....the bidders fighting in out all have exceptional feedback.....the price is growing....gonna get what I hoped for on this one...almost closed, let's see who wins......Hmmmm, haven't seen that bidder before.....OH MAN look at that feedback, it's terrible, oh well we'll see what happens.

And you send out all of your normal messages, and some more, and some more, and the bonehead never even responds to your emails. In the meantime, you have an underbidder ( by $10 ), who wants you to let them know if you have a similar item, or if the winning bidder doesn't follow through (they looked at the persons feedback too). THIS person will send payment via PayPal right away... LOL, some of the people on ebay are wonderful, but some sure are a pain.

Thanks, I feel better now...a little anyway.

  • Had that happen to me once Greg. Wouldn't you know it the guy paid up. He had 6 negs but all we from several months ago. I think he was one of those new ebayers who get cought up and spen several week pay in the first week. I'm not selling much any longer, can't seem to part with anything worth posting. But it does bring up another point that bothers me. Selelrs who do NOT leave me feedback at all, or even worse, who send a note with my coin saying please post positive feedback and I will post some for you in return. Now excuse me, but shouldn't they post when they get PAID, and me when I recieve? What to do here.... I have considered leave a coment in the feedback about it, but I know what would happen then. A feedback war.

  • Give the rat three days to answer then sell it to the back up bidder. Even ebay recommends doing that.
  • I ALWAYS post positive feedback when I receive payment. I know some others don't, and I did get burned by getting my one negative from a fool who wanted to play games, but I try to be accurate and will always take the item back.

This bonehead has 39 negatives and 15 neutrals, and i have OTHER sellers asking me if I have heard anything from him. What a jerk.

  • If they won't contact you after 3 days, then go to the top of the page, click on SEARCH, then FIND MEMBERS and under CONTACT INFO. enter the buyer's Ebay ID and the auction number. You can then get the buyer's telephone number. Most everyone has a message machine today. When I leave a message on the recorder, I always get a response and almost always a quick payment. Hope it works for you.

    Sealyp,
I do not send a note to my buyers, but I do wait until they have left me positive feedback. The reason for that, just because someone actually paid for the item, does not mean they won't become difficult an unreasonable. I have only had a problem with one buyer ( non coin related) and he turned into a psycho after her received the goods. Not because ther was anything wrong with the item, it was because he did a little research after he won the auction, after he paid for it, after I shipped it out...... and discovered he might have paid a little too much for it. I wound up having to send him a $20.00 check ( on a 200.00 item), just to keep him from leaving me a negative feed back. I had done nothing wrong. Needless to say I never left him ANY feedback.
  • That is similar to what happened to me for my only negative, Bustman. the buyer claimed the coin had spots ??? and wanted me to cut the price in half. I told him that he was full of you know what, but that he could send it back if he wanted. he also waited several weeks before doing this. It ticked me off, so I ended up yaking the negative, and giving back the only one i have ever done.
