NFL week 1

Reflections...

Detroit: Raise your hand if you honestty thought they'd be this horrendous. 49 points to the hapless Dolphins? I'll make you a bet...for every game like that that Fiedler has this year, I'll give you $20, and for every crap game he has, you give me $5, and I think I'll come out ahead easily.

Baltimore: Well, at least we didn't have to wait for them to hit rock bottom. What's their schedule like..could they be the first 0-16? You laugh, but honestly, who are they going to play whose worse than Carolina?

St. Louis: I wouldn't read too much into this one...Martz got arrogant (like USA basketball), but you better believe the critics and sportswriters will reel him in big time this week.

Cleveland: If they go 9-7 and miss the playoffs, we'll all know who to blame.

Washington: Guy's it's Arizona. Calm down. You're SUPPOSED to beat them by more than one touchdown.

Buffalo: Looks like Travis Henry is the real deal, and I'm loving it because he was my late steal on my fantasy team!

why? because they suck? is this an unwritten rule i don't know about? a win is a win... last year, Arizona lost 5 games last year decided by 7 points or less... Skins beat them twice, but only 20-10 and 20-17... Arizona beat some good teams last year including Philly, Kansas City, and Oakland... i don't understand why we are "supposed" to beat them by more than a TD... they're not the greatest team in the NFL, but they aren't the trash of the NFL anymore either... Boston is a beast and pretty much unstoppable... Jake sucks but when he has time to throw, he makes smart decisions and finds open receivers... and they have one of the best o-line's in football...

so why should i calm down over a win? Skins are 1-0 and the rest of the NFC East is 0-3... i'm gonna soak it in and enjoy this victory... Arizona or not, a win is a win... and i never knew in football that a team is SUPPOSED to win...

  • Thito, I will certainly give you that: a win is a win, something that my Falcons and Giants do not have any of right now. I think the 'Skins should be a solid 9-7 or 10-6 this year, but you know how some of these local Skins fans can be...they beat Arizona, and all of a sudden everybody'ds calling the local radio shows to talk about how they're going to win 13 or 14 games.

Washington should be proud of the victory, I'm just not ready to concede that Steve Spurrier is the savior....yet.
