Not really an error, but sorta neat

Has anyone seen this before? It's an 87 Lincoln that has a dot after America. It's the same kind of dot that separates EPU. I've attached a scan.

A 1943 copper Lincoln will still only buy a gumball out of the machine, but you can purchase the machine and the store with that same cent.

  • Thanks Ray. Anyone else? I know the planchet bubbling factor is there, but none exist on the rest of the coin.

  • Its really hard to tell from the scan but it looks like the dot over the "I" fell off and just rolled to the location you found it. Maybe if you tilt the coin a little it will roll back. image
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.
