Say the pay's about the same. Would you rather live in Flordia and grade for NGC or live in Southern California and grade for PCGS?
Who do you think take care of their employees better?

I think id wanna be in FL...not only for the weather and surrounding fun, but NGC seams a hell of alot less debated and more respected than PCGS on certain scales (IN MY BOOK)...Id wanna be part of that. Only perk working for PCGS would be id be able to tell David those nappy print Beatles shirts went out a long time ago, and Id be able to give a special hug to my friend Carol J.

cant see any other perk form them other than that.

and as a whole, Id feel more respected working for NGC

    just my opinion

I'd rather live in CA and grade for NGC, but that isn't an option.

At PCGS you get to grade 90% modern coins and 5% crackouts and 5% original coins. God only would know what grading standard PCGS would be using for the moderns.

At NGC you get to grade 20% original coins, 30% crackouts, and 50% bulk stuff for HSN. The HSN stuff would take about 3 seconds a coin to grade if that long.

I wanna grade for PCGS 'cause I don't wanna wear gloves. Oh, and so I can blow boogers on the coins every now and then image .

I'd seriously consider an offer from either one, but would much rather stay home in So Cal.

You'd have to make twice as much to live in CA as FL. No state income tax in FL to boot. The drive to work in FL would probably be about 1/10 of the drive in CA.

I live in NGC's new hometown. I travel to southern CA from 3-5 times/yr (LB shows etc.). It would depend more on personality, personal and professional, than income ...IMHO. K

How about grading for ACG. Wouldn't it be nice to know that your job security had no relation to your ability to grade coins? If you get a coin in for grading that you know nothing about you could just give it the grade the submitter requested and be done with it. image

Part time that is. We are so lucky to have the choices we do in this country! K

California and it's collectivist mentality would drive me nuts. Jimmy Buffet hangs in Florida...I'll go with the Pirate.

I don't relish the thought of the possible sniper fire I would undoubtably be subjected to as I was leaving the office.

We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.
