Both Jeffersons pictured above look excellent - I'll probably send my blue one in the next time I send some coins in and see what they think. Nice pieces guys!
two real beauty's!!!! i have 'em pink, gold, violet and combinations. russ, your's looks to have a little haze and don, your's appears to have some cameo. what grade was assigned to them?
i have a 1962 that is about the same color as russ's but it is an obvious CAM/DCAM so i plan to wash it before i submit because i really believe the color inhibits the graders "seeing" the frost or at leastjudging thedepth of the mirrors. i'll try to help them out!!
i'd think some of the color would be lost to a dip but using your suggested dip my nickels have emerged haze free or at the very least much improved. just a quick in/out was all it took.
KlectorKid - Every time I see the old red , white and blue in the general shape of our flag, I just want to stand up straight with pride and salute. I guess its the old soldier in me. Thank you for the neat color display. TheBear appreciates your time and efforts. ( I bet you didnt know that the Army allowed bears to become commissioned officers did you?)
Nice Nickel Russ. Thanks for posting it . I like those colored nickels. I was wondering, are there colored nickels in other years. Or is this just common to like the sixties nickels. I also have a nickel I would like graded soon it will be my first coin submission, and was wondering should i dip it in something to like get any dust specks off of it before I send it in? I don't want to change the color or anything.

I does have a touch of haze on the reverse. But, since it's a nickel, I was afraid to dip it. Obverse is nice and clean.

PS - Al, color doesn't hurt the dcam designation if the frost is heavy and the color is even.

<< <i>PR68 Dcam, and Russ, you cheated...... >>
Now, now.
<< <i>BTW - now that you're done with that blue one, can I have it? >>
It's listed on eBay so I can make obscene profits and buy more Kennedy proofs.
