A nice way to start the morning, a teletrade purchase

Recently purchased a 1903 IHC MS64 Red from their auction. Coin looked well struck but very dark in the picture. Picked it up at the post office and wow what nice copper/orange/red coloring (Nikon was sent back today for repair, so no true picture to post). Anyway I will be smiling all day, unless of course my Irish don't do well against my two daughters alma mater. Teletrade Photo

There are some pretty nice capped bust halves running over the next few weeks. I'll be watching to see how the holdered stuff does.

Dave, I spent a long time sizing up that coin and for $100 wasn't much of a risk.

Nice strike, no serious spots, and no marks. I seen lots of 65s that look much worse. If the color is good could have upgrade potential.

I think NGC has this one correct, a slight weakness in strike in the first 2 feathers about two-thirds up and on the bottom hair curl. No doubt it should cross. I tend to be very critical of my coins when it comes to grading, especially IHC's.

Mike can you see that slight strike weakness in that dark scan? I have two decent 64RDs IHCs that I am looking to replace with 65s, but I am afraid that you may be too critical of my coins for me to offer them to you.

But I'm not selling them until I get 65s.
