the USA has the best NBA players in the world and thye cant blow out everyone in the touney? Its bad enough they lost once, but 2 times, in a ROW?!?!?! Man is that sickening. Well at least maybe now they will bring back the college kids and have someone play who obviously gives a d*mn about winning in this tourney, cause you know if these NBA players had any will to win in this tourney they would have absolutely no problem doing it

I just think they thought they were indestructable and couldn't be beat whatsoever. They've been proved wrong twice now that they are not invincible. After the first loss, Paul Pierce said that they would come back and play better and win the rest of the games and still had a chance to win the gold...and said that they are still the team. Hmm, I guess his c^ckiness got the better of him.

Now, the USA can only finish 5th...but who gives a d@mn about that? I don't even care anymore.

Shaq, Kobe, KG, Iverson, T-Mac...etc...some of those guy's need to be there next year to show what the USA is really all about.

Oh come on, it wouldnt have mattered if those guys were in there. We may not have had the top 2 or 3 players in the NBA there, but come on, we still had liek #'s 4-12, and that should be way more than enough to crush any foreign team. If this team wanted it bad enough they could crush anyone. Heck this just shows that when we were winning by 30-40 points that wasnt even that good, cause they were still slacking off then. This team can beat any team, anywhere, any time (that is if they had the will). They dont really care, especialyl when like 5,000 people show up to the game. Man, it looks like an Expos game in the Conseco Field House

Derrick - when pierce said they were still "the" team, that wasnt c.ockiness - that was embarrassment. he wasnt saying we're still the [best] team, he was saying we're still the [first US team to lose since pros came in] team

i dont see why usa basketball even allows a pro to play for the USA more than once

atleast if they restricted each player to only 1 representative appearance in their pro career, the players might appreciate it

well I hope Yugoslavia will win the Gold.. they have a nice team.. but they should let Divac start.. he played a hell of a game against the USA (of course, he knows all of the players..) he has the experience and the talent, GO VLADE!

First of all, the USA didnt have their best players. I mean, antoinio davis? Michael Finley? Sure those are good players but tehy couldve picked better players than those.

Second of all, the USA team was thrown together like a month ago and the argentina and yugoslavian teams probably practiced from a while back (not sure if this is a fact, just my opinion)

Ok, Im not an expert on the roster they had, but come on, even with the lower end 1st stringers we still should have easily beaten any team. And what do you mean these arent the 70's anymore? Did we allow nba players to play in the 70's? I know the teams from around the world have gotten better, but still, this team should have won. These guys have no intention of trying to win. They are trying to play this like an AS game, fancy plays and dunks, making sportscenter, no defense. After all these guys dont want to get themselves hurt, what jeopardize their nba careers and all.

2 Words.......ZERO TALENT!!!! The NBA sickens be more and more every year. The NBA is nothing but a group of Ghetto superstars. A bunch of smack talking, overpaid, folks that care only about themselves.....(Kobe, Shaq, Garnett, Iverson). We have men and women that give their lives for their country, but those guys won't play ball for the country that pays their salaries. If you are a fan of any of the names I have mentioned, and I chapped your a$$, I am sorry, but it's disgusting. Wouldn't it be something if they didn't qualify for the Olympics? You are right, it is very embarassing. Maybe the word fundamentals will be taken more seriously.
