The $10 bill sounds like it's a North Africa silver cert, probably not worth a lot unless it's never been folded. There is one in XF on eBay I saw, 1934-A that was going for about $80. You'd have to be more specific on the mass coin though, as there were a number of different pine tree coins minted in latter half of the 17th century.
LW, under normal circumstances I might agree, but all gold certs were confiscated in May of 1933, so there were no series 1934 Gold Certs. The North Africa notes did have a yellow seal though they were not redeemable in gold.
