Agentjim007 is correct in that they were the Regency holders that PCGS no longer offers. A friend of mine has a monster toned Morgan in one and when he sent it in he had them write on the holder "REAL TONING". It's pretty cool.
I believe they were also the only way at the time that you could get varieties like Morgan VAM numbers and overdates listed on the holder. They were extremely unpopular due to cost and size.
There's nothing in the rule book that says an elephant can't pitch.
A DEALER FRIEND OF MINE HAS ONE THAT HOUSES A MORGAN DOLLAR. ITS CALLED "CHRISTMAS TIME" IT IS A 80 OR 81-S IN 66. i WAS AT HIS SHOP WHEN HE TURNED DOWN A $3000.00 OFFER FOR IT. EVEN I WOULD HAVE TO THINK LONG AND HARD ABOUT THAT OFFER.
Hey TONEDDOLLARS! Looks like you have a pretty impressive set of toned dollars. Do you have images of your coins available for viewing anywhere online?
I have one of these Regency slabs with a 1916 D/D Barber quarter in it, bought off a Teletrade auction a number of years ago for my Mother's birth year collection (a VERY memorable birth year for coins--it's costing me a fortune to put her collection together!!!.) Anyway, the slab came in a green velveteen bag with a drawstring, and I think its pretty cool too, even though it won't fit in the boxes and just has to lie around by itself. Interesting coin, too.
ANACONDA THANKS. I AM WORKING ON GETTING THE PICTURE THING DOWN AND HAVE HAD NO LUCK AT ALL. I DO NOT WANT TO POST ANY PICTURES UNTILL I AM HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. AS SOON AS I GET IT RIGHT I WILL ATTACH THEM TO MY COLLECTION.
I BROUGHT MY COLLECTION TO THE ANA IN NEW YORK TO SHOW GSAGUY. HE IS HELPING ME TRY TO FILL SOME HOLES AND TO UPGRADE SOME PIECES. HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS SEEN THE COINS. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SHARING THEM WITH ALL AS SOON AS I CAN.
ADRIAN YOU GET SOME PRETTY COOL COINS YOURSELF. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PM ME I WOULD GLADLY SEND YOU MY WANT LIST.
Condor did get his Regency slab. I came across one, recalled his need and asked if he still needed one. He had picked one up off of eBay. So, I think he's set.
I think TAGZ has their 1907 Extreme High Relief in one of those regency holders, it looks pretty cool.
