That design was actually SBA in her earlier wild days, before she met up with the rogue who broke her heart and led to her famous crusade and lasting accomplishments. Her family suppressed the design in favor of her later likeness to preserve her legacy.
Well, the mintage (from the Gallery Mint) was 2,500 for this model and 2,500 for the Statue of Liberty design. -The same mintage as the Goodacre Sacawagea. I paid about $125.00 for mine (PCI holdered also as an MS68) and think that is a fair price.
Occassionally they turn up raw on eBay and the price seems to settle right around $50.00 to $100.00. That would seem to be the way to go if one can be located.
They're also about 50% thicker than the standard dollar coin.
i've never owned anything from the gallery mint, but some of there repro's of the early stuff are real nice. i just might pick up something from those guys! THANKS for the info!!!

Frank Gasparro died in 2001. His version of Liberty is just as unappealing as his design for Susan B. Anthony.
