i don't know for sure but those look like non-mint products. i've seen dark-side reverse proofs before but never a u.s. coin and certainly not an SAE.

Got to be an after market modification. I haven't seen anything about the US Mint issuing reverse proof ASEs in 2001.

if it's reverse then why isn't the writing on the reverse black too - why only the seal?

Looks like a business strike that was painted to me, like the colorized versions of the SAE and state quarters. Yeah, why isn't the lettering black? Too hard to paint around, it would look worse tha it does already.

It is a painted one for sure. The fact that they didn't do the legend and devices is enough to prove it. It's no different to me than the ol' artificial frosting with aluminum technique.

Not only is it a poor, after-market painted lady, the seller has the "Bid on Me" tail on my cursor!!! This gimmick (and others) throws up (pun intended!) a red flag to me. No bid on this kind of cr*p....ever!
