Since I am new to this board and this is only my 2nd posting, I thought that I would say thanks to everyone who answered my question as to whether or not $250.00 was alot of money to pay for a 2001-P MS68 Roosevelt dime, pop 11/0. I did think about it for a couple of days and mulled over the fact that indeed I did search about 6 original rolls and found only 4 to send in and MS67 was the highest grade that I received. After a while you just want the coin. I guess that is why there is only 11 of the darn things!!!
As to another question, why is it that no one collects clad Roosevelts? It is a great coin!
Enthusiastically yours, Stooge.

modern in gem, though the very highest grades aren't a lot easier to find. It also
has been saved in rolls a little more than the quarter.
It does have a very high attrition rate in circulation. Older coins are getting decidedly
harder to find. Even though mintages are higher for the dime, some of the early dates
show up less often and are mixed with more coin. The dime has not worn nearly as
quickly as the quarter due to it's slow turnover and light weight, but it has worn more
evenly. That is each of a given coin is worn about the same. Most of the dates in the
70's are very very difficult to find in nice VF or better. They do make an attractive set
and deserve more attention than they get.
Glad you bought it!! Enjoy it. As for Roosevelts, Cladking is right about Roosies getting more attention. Once the interest picks up a bit .. and it will!! you should have a nice collection which is relatively cheap to put together now.
If you are interested, I have a 2000-D PCGS MS68 for $50 and a 1950-S PCGS MS67 (only 1 higher) for $100.
