Yeah, right...would anyone bid on this?!?!

Why would anyone waste their money listing this auction? I just love the 10 available dutch auction.

    What auction?
  • Hey Morris-
What auction? Seems you are having a Senior Moment. Did the horse leave the gate without a rider? Hello........!!?? Another wasted thread.
  • so much typing and so little information in that description. I might bid if I knew what I was bidding on, although I did learn quite a bit about the market for 1936-42 proofs.

Not me too much money. I guess since you can only use buy-it-now you have to buy ten?

I just love his return policy!!!

Very creative. It will probably be something like the value drop when driving a new car off the lot.

And I love the fact that he's quoting sources over a year old!
  • This guy has "RIP OFF" written all over him. His "me" page spews certified only yet he only offers raw. Whats with that return policy? Not 3 day full refund but 3 day 100% FMV (full market value) you don't want to learn what he considers full market value. Go to his link and see why he needs to take large amounts of your money ( sitting next to him) STAY AWAY

I'm not much on the market for Proof Walkers, But I find it hard to believe that he has 10 of them from two separate years. The scans he provides are so small you can't tell anything about the coins. They look like he used a "Make Your Own Proof" kit. (dremil tool!!!image)

Definitly a seller to stay away from.

    BTW

When did Ebay resend their policy about linking to your website??? I looked he does have coins for sale there!!

  • With auctions (!?) like his, no wonder he has such low feedback. But then, I guess you'd have to actually close a transaction to get feedback.
Buy the coin...but be sure to pay for it.

I like how the picture is so small you can't see the date. Also like the feedback rating. A big 0.

i like the way sellers compare their prices to the "market high in 1989" as if you're getting some kind of discount. and since we're selling at only 28% of the market peak, prices can't possibly fall any further (tell that to WCOM stockholders).

Seller advises via email that all their coins are graded by either PCGS or NGC. The person who wrote the auction ought to get a rap on the knuckles for leaving that out.

Recent name change, net 0 feedback. Looks like a "rare opportunity" all right. Ajentjim is right, this one screams SCAM.

  • I'm not trying to imply, but you should check his feedback. Especially the first transaction. Maybe this clears things up?

Well, I looked at this seller's auctions again, and I'm confused. Apparently there wasn't a single bid on any of their auctions on the first round. They've listed another group (some from the first round got relisted) but I don't understand what type of auction they are using. No actual bidding, just a BIN option at a predetermined price. Looks like kind of a dutch auction but only "1 available".

Aside from the fact that they got wise and now include "PCGS Certified" in the auction titles, and the fact that the have terrible photos, what kind of auction is this?
