Can anyone help me find....

Any Topps Venezuelan sets from the mid-1960s in EX or better grade? If there was an opportunity to purchase a complete set, I would jump at the opportunity. Please let me know if anyone has any leads.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

is this set rare in high grade?

i know the backs are printed in spanish (and english?) and that is probably the main difference

but is the checklist the same or different?

It would make pretty big hobby news if one of those sets came up for sale. As far as I know, I don't think any sets exist. Singles are also a major rarity and I don't know if PSA has graded any of the few they HAVE graded above a 5.

    Marc,
If only you'd have asked during National. I definitely remember there was a dealer with decent quantities of singles. It wouldn't surprise me if he had sets - or at least near-sets. I believe the condition was around what you were looking for, but I can't remember the dealer's name.

    Mike:

Sort of a passing interest. Perhaps the dealer was the one that has the www.gfg.com database, which has a very extensive group of Topps Venezuelan cards.

Of course, perhaps the ulterior motive is that my wife is Venezuelan, and this is a desperate attempt to get her to see baseball cards for the truly wonderful things they are!

Dave Levin (www.gfg.com) is probably the foremost dealer in Venezuelan cards. I've found him to be very pleasant to deal with on other matters. Cuban Ball also carries Venezuelan cards (as well as other Caribbean issues). I haven't dealt with him at all.
