With all the low divirgent threads being posted, I propose.......

....that we have a new method of 'previewing' a thread. Much like Ebert & Roper, a thumbs up or down emblem be posted just before the message title. A thumbs up would be a thread that's interesting, informative, imaginative and thought provoking. A thumbs down would be a thread that is third rate. A split would mean 'you decide'.
Well? Please don't say my idea is thumbs down, humph!

Should be divergent, meaning, off topic.
TRUTH
c'mon truth, bad spelling and i think WW----wrong word!!! dig down a little deeper into your Funk and Wagnals and come up with another 10-center!!!!!!
what's really funny is that i get the gist of what you're trying to say and it sounds like a good idea to me. only thing is: who rates the threads?

In memory of BL, SM, and KG. 16 and forever young, rest in peace.
I,d lke to propose a new forum....the `grade-my-coin forum`The members grading room or something.
How many Grade-my-Morgan posts alone are there?Hundreds.Add all the other series and you have a thriving new forum.

I believe the real gist of what he's saying is for us to get a grip, use some common sense and make our topics indicative of the thread content.
Thumbs up

I have pointed out before I especially enjoy threads posted by dealers,
regarding some experience they encountered at a coin show, running
their coin shops and their replies to threads that ask a question.
What's life without some humor too. The numismatic lymeric was
a lot of fun last week and I could just imagine all the members
sitting by their computers trying to come up with something clever.
And the one that asked you to explain your handle got close to
200 replies. I thought that was a lot of fun too. There has to be
a little balance in there.
But it is a coin forum and should primarily be an educational
experience for everyone and as long as members ask genuine questions,
that's ok with me. Probably too many threads posted though asking
members to grade a coin.
Maybe members can come up with an idea to help standardize the
threads more by leading off the thread with such words as Dealer--, or
Collector-- or Humorous-- or Question-- Coin Fact-- or some
basic categories to follow that could be used when posting.
